Hi Heidi,

Nice work on the project...it's clear from your reflection that you put a lot of thinking and effort into it. I'd be interested to hear how this works with students--some of the CG clips are rather long...I'm wondering if they might be made a little more concise. You could have more overt explanations as well... but then again, you don't want to be over-explaining. I think the project would offer a lot of discussion about the concepts (although I usually leave out the verb form of "effect" since it gets to be so confusing for students). I think you've done a good job and you've really gotten to know some of the technology here. Thanks, dc

Hi Heidi,

Your presentation and blog entries are great. I enjoyed the Asian video with the graceful artwork and imagery. It could be used very creatively in the classroom.

The Capt. Obvious is a graphic novel and listed on Amazon.com:

Captain Obvious: When Tomorrow Never Comes (Paperback)
by David Landrum (Author)

Great job!

Thanks for the support! I guess it's just that point of the semester when it seems like I have a million things to do. I know I'll get through it. I always do somehow! Have a good weekend!

I frequently use Wikipedia as a starting point also. I still find it unreliable and I haven't had a professor yet that would allow me to reference it, so I've to keep my excursions to the Wiki world on the downlow. But it can be useful if you consider the information carefully and verify it against other, more reliable sources. Great blog site!

I know exactly what you mean, about the free-time. I am fairly certain that I did not do one productive thing this summer. I'm trying to see how long I can keep that going.

BTW, I think that is my favorite "Family Guy" scene.

I also have used wikipedia as a jumping off point for a lot of projects (against the cries of my professors!). Have you had a chance to look at the other wikis out there? Before last night my experience was strictly based in wikipedia, but there are so many other wiki resources, especially for the personal research, that are fascinating...
